First, most recently, I had attended SpeakSudan's S.E.A. Fest as a vendor. I had a great time at the event; they had amazing performers and other talented vendors that I was able to connect with. I was also able to of course sell a few copies of my book.
Prior to that I had my book signing at Accents Bookstore. This was one of the highlights for me in July. July was a CRAZY month for me, but in a good way. Besides my book signing, I had a TV interview on The Nikki Clarke Show and a radio interview on the LizyT Radio Show! These both were two other major highlights for me. Both women are amazing, and I was absolutely grateful that they each asked to interview me respectively.
The important thing to remember as an author (and an entrepreneur) is to keep going. If you let up, you might lose momentum. So here I am continuing to push through, and continuing to drum up new ideas.

All in all I would say that I have been having a great experience with my first book. Yes, there are the odd reminders that I 'could have' tried to publish with an established publisher, but honestly, I would not change this for anything in the world. That may sound cliche, but it is true!
